Never forget to appreciate historic places. It's like time traveling in real time. Our latest favorite is Pete's Tavern established in 1864, once known as The Portman Hotel, and later Healys. O'Henry (William Sydney Porter) who lived down the street as well as wrote the "Gift Of The Magi" in the second booth of this beautifully maintained establishment during the 1900's mentioned it in "The Lost Blend".... and you also get the opportunity to see the dummy refrigerator door hinges that are still intact from the "Noble Experiment", prohibition days. There's so much more that can only be appreciated in person. We loved it and plan to return again. Monica Saliceti.
